Hope y'all had a good weekend.
Friday, Sissy and I got out and left the boys at home and did some shopping. This is probably only the 3rd time we've separated the babies. I have a hard time doing it. I always feel like I forgot something at home....uh a kid. Anyway, I had the urge to learn to knit, so we went to Hobby Lobby to pick up the stuff I'd need for my knitting project and then went shopping for a birthday present for my cousin's little girl. I couldn't wait to get home to Little Man, but it was nice (and so easy) shopping with only Sis!
This is the knitting project I'm working on. I've never knitted before, but I figured if I could learn crochet by watching YouTube videos that I could learn knit the same way.
I had to start over twice and watch three different videos to get it, but it's coming along!
Oh! I also picked up this Fall themed coffee mug from Hobby Lobby. It's kind of Granny looking and I love it for that. I'm making myself wait until September to drink out of it though. I'm so ready for Fall (have I mentioned that?), but I'm trying to pace myself a bit so I can fully enjoy the excitement of it when it's finally here.
Speaking of pacing myself...this is going on at Hobby Lobby and it doesn't hurt my feelings at all!
Saturday was the birthday party for my cousin's little girl and everyone had a blast. The babies got to jump on their first moon bounce and Sissy LOVED it! Little Man thought it was fun for a quick second, but Sis could have jumped all day.
Sunday lunch was spent at Grandmother's and we came home promptly for naps at 1! The babies missed naps on Friday and Saturday...I wasn't going to try 3 days in a row. Mommy loves naptime as much as babies need it! Sunday evening I stayed up and watched a couple of documentaries on Netflix. Someone recommended Forks Over Knives, so I watched it and then I followed it up with Hungry For Change. With "Get Your Shit Together September" (GYSTS) coming up quick, I thought they might help motivate me to get my eating in order. I won't be doing anything extreme (no veganism or juicing for me), but they did motivate me to clean my diet up a bit. I'm going to make an effort to eat more "real" foods and less Lean Pockets and Captain Crunch.
With eating more "real" foods, I'll definitely have to cook more, so I'm thinking about doing a recipe linkup sometime in GYSTS for everyone to share their favorite healthy recipes. Is that something that would interest y'all? I'm open to opinions. There are no rules for GYSTS. It's not an official challenge, it's just a way for everyone to join together and commit to working toward our goals...however you feel is best for you is what you should do.
