Weigh In Friday + Follow Through Friday...

Today I'm going to link up with some lovely ladies for Follow Through Friday!

I've done really well for this first full week of 2014!

First, my weekly weigh-in
2.8 lbs down from last week and back in the 160's! I think I'll reward myself with something fun once I get back in the 150's. I would love a new pair of cross trainers. I'm wearing my old running shoes for workouts and, while they are really good shoes, they're a half size too big. That's good for running, but not so good for other workouts.

I started T25 on Monday and am loving it! It's tough, really tough, but it's an awesome workout in such a short period of time. Today is a double day and I'm supposed to do Lower Focus and Cardio. We'll see if I survive it. I'm determined to stick with this program and really commit to the full 10 weeks. I took legit "before" pictures in my underwear (my first real before pictures in all of my weight loss journey) and I can't wait to see the changes. There better be changes! Don't worry, unless I come out of this looking like Shaun T, you'll never have to see those pictures.

As far as food goes, I had a not so good day on Sunday (Lunch at Grandmother's is always a struggle), but I've been back on track all week. I'd been debating whether I want to give myself Sundays as a free day, but I'm thinking I shouldn't. What's your opinion of a "free day"? For me, I can undo all my week's progress in one day. I don't really get that whole "moderation" thing if I'm not logging my food. So for now, I think I've decided to save my free days for special occasions like birthdays, anniversary, and holidays.

So far so good on following through on my New Year goals! How about you??

  1. Way to go!!! That's a great loss!

I don't intentionally plan a 'cheat meal' or day....but do allow myself healthy carbs (and some not-so-healthy) on Sundays. I figure it is my moderation to the strict routine I keep Mon-Friday.

If I can get into a new decade, I think everyone on IG and my blog will get sick of me jumping around and giddy for finally breaking the plateau. ha.

  2. I love T25!! I started it a few weeks before Christmas and got to week 3. I took the week of Christmas off because I had surgery, then the week after Christmas I was on vacation and no work outs there...and now this week I have pneumonia and walking across the room is a struggle for me...so I am missing it! I was noticing a real difference just 3 weeks in. I feel I have undone everything, but as soon as I am recovered I am starting the program over and cant wait!

I think instead of having cheat days I am allowing myself a cheat meal a week. It is hard to not cheat at least once a week, but I agree that I can undo everything in an entire day.

  3. Nice job!! I think I'm going to try out T25 one of these days!! I think a cheat meal/day/whatever is fine...you have to give yourself a little freedom or you will sabotage yourself is my opinion! I try to just do a cheat meal...and wait until the end of the day to have it, because I know if I eat a bad meal for lunch I'll say eff it and eat bad for dinner too!

  4. Great job. I feel like a free meal is fine. I feel like a free day like you said can undo all you've worked for. Keep up the great work girl.

  6. I just tried T25 for the first time last night and I love it!! That's an awesome loss for the week too BTW, I let myself have a free day too but I've been trying to avoid doing that until I can get my nighttime snacking under control, it's killing me!

  8. Good for you girl! I'm not a fan of free days because I got buck wild on every meal. I prefer doing one cheat meal, that way I remain focused on every meal, and then I feel like I'm indulging for one thing. I find it's easier to get back on track after one meal than a whole day (which can often turn into two days, or three, or a week).

  9. Awesome loss this week! I think a cheat meal is good (use it for Sunday lunch at your Grandmothers), but I'm with you in undoing a week worth of good if I had an entire cheat day. :)

  12. I can't do a free anything either. Every now and then I give it a try and then I remember that I just can't do that. One cheat quickly turns into me spiraling out of control and before I know it my cheat meal becomes a cheat day and that turns into a cheat month! I wish it wasn't that way though. I hope that one of these days all the issues I have with food will go away! Ugh. Congrats on your loss this week! Keep up the great work!

  13. Good job on the weightloss!!
As for a free day, I used to do those and I went WILD,! Now I won't have them. Yes, I will have a free meal or snack on the weekend, but not a whole day. I focus on what I've been craving all week, and I have it Saturday night. If it's candy, I still eat a normal meal and then have the candy. If I'm craving a burger and fries, I eat that and stick with regular food the rest of the day! Good luck with whatever you choose!!

  14. I have started "flexible dieting" or iifym (if it fits your macros) and its really helped me with my bingeing and going nuts on free days. Have you ever heard of it or considered it?
